The 3.4 Web application allows files to be uploaded to eSearch as new attachments, but there is a restriction of 10MB on the size of each file that can be uploaded in this way. Adobe AIR technology enables the Attachment Uploader tool to overcome this limitation, allowing files of any size to be uploaded as attachhments, and also allows entire folders to be uploaded in one step. The Attachment Uploader tool is also downloaded, installed and launched from within the 3.4 Web application, after the Adobe AIR runtime has been installed first. This means the Uploader tool shares the same login credentials and session information as the user who's logged into the Web application. The eSearch 3.4 Installation media for all supported platforms includes the necessary runtime installers for Adobe Flash Player and Adobe AIR. eSearch 3.4 improves the workflow for managing items through the order process, including enhancements to the way orders are fulfilled and cancelled. This workflow diagram explains the process for ordering items for Delivery and then returning them back to store. It also shows how the Asset Movement process of checking in and checking out items relates to the ordering process, which is a frequently asked question from the user community.
The mechanisms for uploading, storing and managing attachments in eSearch have been significantly improved in release 3.4 with the introduction of a new Attachment Uploader tool, and other enhancements for browsing and linking attachments. These new mechanisms are explained in detail in these workflow diagrams. Please also watch the Video Tutorials relating to attachments.

The System Requirements document for eSearch 3.4 clearly answers this: the minimum version of Flash Player required for eSearch 3.4 is Flash Player 10.1. The software installer program for eSearch 3.4 is shipped with Flash Player 10.3 bundled into it (under licence from Abode), so if you don't have internet access or you can't get Flash Player from the Adobe website, then you can run the eSearch software installer and select the option to install it. Each computer on which the eSearch 3.4 Web application will be used requires the Flash Player plug-in to be installed. We do not support running the eSearch Web application on mobile devices, even though it is technically possible on some Android and Playbook devices.
